Scholarship Request Process

Falling Creek Camp is pleased to offer the opportunity to apply for scholarships for camp through funds managed by the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (Pass the Light Fund) and the American Camp Association. The funds are specifically designed to help provide financial assistance for Falling Creek Camp boys who would otherwise not be able to attend.

Objective Standards for Eligibility of Scholarship Recipients

The following guidelines qualify a scholarship participant with Falling Creek Camp. Financial information is submitted as part of the Falling Creek Camp scholarship application process. Characteristics are gleaned from reference letters and conversations with references before the camper is accepted by Falling Creek Camp.

● Camper is self-motivated and excited to participate under the guidelines of Falling Creek Camp.

● Camper is respectful of others and able to follow the guidelines of positive group dynamics.

● Camper is committed to be a positive contributing group member and shows a genuine interest in participating, understanding that his commitment means full participation and completion of the program.

● Camper has a family who supports this child’s attendance at Falling Creek Camp.

● Camper’s family is unable to otherwise afford sending this child to attend Falling Creek Camp, as shown by their submission of income and expense information on the Falling Creek Camp scholarship application.

● The amount given toward the participation of any scholarship camper shall not exceed the amount of tuition minus the amount the family is able to pay and any amount gleaned from the participant’s own efforts in raising funds.
